Abu Ghazaleh Discusses Expanding Partnerships with the Jordanian-Saudi Business Council

Amman – Minister of Investment Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh discussed, during his meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters with members of the Joint Jordanian-Saudi Business Council, prospects for economic and investment cooperation between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as ways to expand partnerships between the private sectors of the two countries, opening up new avenues for investment and business in both countries and across the region.

Abu Ghazaleh emphasised the depth and strength of Jordanian-Saudi relations, highlighting the importance of building on them through greater practical cooperation between the two business communities, identifying priority sectors and projects, and leveraging the expertise and capabilities of the private sectors in both countries to establish joint ventures and access new markets and opportunities.

Abu Ghazaleh noted that the reconstruction phase in Syria is opening up new prospects for investment and business across the region. He stressed that Jordan, with its strategic location and economic and logistical capabilities, is well positioned to serve as an effective platform for companies seeking to contribute to this phase. He also underscored the importance of building alliances between Jordanian and Saudi companies that bring together their expertise and capabilities, enhance their competitiveness, and enable them to benefit from reconstruction projects and related opportunities.

During the meeting, which was attended by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment Zaher Al-Qatarneh and Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, Abu Ghazaleh invited Council members to participate in the Jordan–EU Investment Conference, which will be held during the fourth quarter of this year, describing it as an opportunity to connect with companies and investors and explore new areas of cooperation and investment.

For his part, Chairman of the Jordanian-Saudi Business Council on the Saudi side, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Thubaiti, affirmed the strength of the relations between the two brotherly countries. He noted the Council’s commitment to strengthening communication between the two business communities and exploring new opportunities for cooperation in a way that contributes to developing trade and investment relations between Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

The Joint Jordanian-Saudi Business Council is chaired by Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Thubaiti on the Saudi side and by Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq on the Jordanian side. During the current week, the Council is holding a series of meetings and engagements in Jordan as part of its efforts to strengthen communication and cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.
