Beijing – Minister of Investment Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh met with Mr. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), on the sidelines of Jordan’s participation in the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), currently being held in Beijing.
The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the organizer of the China International Supply Chain Expo, is one of China’s most prominent economic institutions supporting outbound investment and facilitating the expansion of Chinese businesses into global markets. It is also among the most influential organizations in promoting Chinese investment flows worldwide, bringing together leading economic institutions and globally active Chinese enterprises under its umbrella.
The meeting took place as part of Dr. Abu Ghazaleh’s visit to China, which aims to attract additional high-value Chinese investments to Jordan and promote the investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom’s business environment.
During the visit, the Minister held meetings with several leading Chinese companies, including Cainiao Smart Logistics Network, a global leader in smart logistics, supply chain solutions, and e-commerce services, as well as Sinofert and Sinochem Holdings, two of China’s leading companies in the fertilizer and agricultural technology sectors.
Discussions focused on investment opportunities available in Jordan and prospects for cooperation in regional distribution, food security, phosphate- and potash-based industries, as well as a number of other priority sectors.
The Minister also visited a bus manufacturing facility that is set to supply vehicles for the Southern Badia School Transport Project. During the visit, he reviewed the production lines and advanced manufacturing technologies employed at the facility and explored opportunities for investment in Jordan’s bus manufacturing industry. The discussions also addressed leveraging modern industrial technologies to strengthen national manufacturing capabilities and create new avenues for investment and economic growth.
Dr. Abu Ghazaleh highlighted the significant progress achieved in Jordan’s investment environment in recent years, as well as the legislative and procedural reforms implemented by the Government to enhance competitiveness and facilitate the ease of doing business.
The Minister, accompanied by Jordan’s Ambassador to China, H.E. Hossam Al Husseini, reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to building on the strong bilateral relationship between Jordan and China and expanding cooperation with Chinese companies and institutions to attract more high-value investments to the Kingdom.
He emphasized Jordan’s strategic location as a gateway for business, investment, and logistics services in the region, serving as a vital link between regional and global markets. He further noted that Jordan is advancing a number of strategic projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening its role in regional and international supply chains and enhancing trade corridor connectivity, thereby creating promising opportunities for investors and companies seeking regional expansion.
The meeting, attended by senior officials from CCPIT, the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), and representatives of major Chinese economic and commercial institutions, also covered several strategic projects being implemented in Jordan in partnership with the private sector. Discussions highlighted opportunities for Chinese companies to participate in infrastructure, transportation, logistics, energy, and industrial development projects.
For his part, Chairman Ren Hongbin expressed the Council’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Jordan and expanding engagement between the business communities of both countries. He underscored the importance of capitalizing on available economic and investment opportunities, fostering partnerships between Chinese and Jordanian companies, and supporting the development of sustainable collaborations in sectors of mutual interest.
Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination and communication between the economic institutions of the two countries and building upon the growing Jordanian-Chinese relationship to enhance trade and investment exchanges and advance shared interests.
The Minister of Investment is expected to continue his visit to China through a series of meetings with leading economic institutions and global Chinese companies, in addition to participating in specialized economic events. These engagements aim to strengthen direct communication with Chinese investors and the broader business community and open new horizons for economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
