His remarks came while patronizing, on behalf of the Prime Minister, the opening of theNinth Conference of Jordanian Businessmen and Investors Abroad, organized by the Jordanian Businessmen Association in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the Ministry of Investment under the theme"Investment Opportunities with a Global Vision."The conference aims to reinforce the role of Jordanians abroad as active partners in Jordan's national economic development.

Abu Ghazaleh said the conference is being held at a time when the world is witnessing rapid economic and geopolitical transformations that have reshaped global trade and investment patterns, supply chains, and economic growth centers. He stressed that the true strength of nations lies in their ability to anticipate change and transform challenges into opportunities.

During the opening ceremony, attended by a number of Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Jordan, Abu Ghazaleh underscored the government's strong commitment to every initiative that strengthens engagement with Jordanians abroad and deepens their partnership in the country's development journey.

He noted that theEconomic Modernization Visionserves as the government's roadmap toward building a more productive, competitive, and sustainable economy, placing people, investment, and innovation at the heart of the development process. He added that the government has continued to enhance the investment environment by modernizing legislation, simplifying procedures, and expanding incentives and digital services.

Abu Ghazaleh explained that, as part of the government's commitment to strengthening the ties of Jordanians abroad with their homeland and recognizing their role in national development, the latest amendments to theInvestment Environment Regulation for 2026introduced significant reforms. These amendments allow companies registered outside Jordan, in which Jordanians own at least 50 percent of the capital or exercise effective control, to invest in the Kingdom, thereby creating a more attractive investment environment for Jordanians wherever they reside.

"When we speak of Jordanians abroad, we are speaking of a natural extension of Jordan itself—of national talents who have contributed to building economies, institutions, and markets across the world," Abu Ghazaleh said. "Your achievements are not merely personal successes; they are a national asset that enhances Jordan's image, strengthens the standing of its people, and reaffirms that the Jordanian citizen has always been—and will continue to be—the country's greatest resource."

He added: "From this perspective, we view you as partners in shaping Jordan's future through your expertise, capabilities, and business networks, which are capable of opening new horizons for investment and cooperation."

"Our invitation to you today is not simply an invitation to invest," he continued. "It is an invitation to a national partnership built on mutual trust and shared interests—one that transforms expertise and opportunities into projects that support the national economy and advance Jordan's development."

Abu Ghazaleh stressed that the government firmly believes the private sector is the principal driver of economic growth and that investment is the key to creating jobs, improving quality of life, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy. He emphasized that the government will continue to develop the business environment and strengthen investor confidence, further positioning Jordan as a regional investment hub, supported by its stability, highly skilled human capital, strategic location, and unwavering commitment to economic reform.

He also extended his appreciation to theJordanian Businessmen Associationfor organizing the conference, which, throughout its successive editions, has established itself as a national platform for dialogue and engagement, bringing together Jordanian business leaders and investors from around the world while fostering partnerships, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and creating new investment opportunities.

For his part,Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Daifallah Al-Fayez, emphasized the vital role played by Jordanians abroad in supporting the national economy and attracting investment. He highlighted the Ministry's commitment to maintaining close communication with Jordanian communities overseas and providing the necessary support and facilitation for Jordanian investors.

Ambassador Daifallah Al-Fayez: Jordan Continues to Open New Horizons for Growth and Investment

Ambassador Daifallah Al-Fayez affirmed that Jordan is moving forward in opening new horizons for development and growth, guided by the directives ofHis Majesty King Abdullah II. He noted that theEconomic Modernization Visionprovides a comprehensive national framework for achieving a transformative shift toward high-quality, sustainable economic growth by empowering both the public and private sectors, creating genuine investment opportunities, and generating employment.

Al-Fayez stressed that the implementation of this vision cannot be viewed in isolation from the challenges posed by the regional and international environment, particularly the current geopolitical developments and their direct impact on investment attraction, trade flows, financing and energy costs, as well as global supply chains.

He noted that these challenges are not new to Jordan and require a realistic, confident, and flexible approach. Thanks to the guidance of its wise leadership, Jordan continues to demonstrate resilience and the ability to overcome challenges while investing in the development of a secure and attractive investment environment that strengthens investor confidence and supports business sustainability.

Al-Fayez emphasized that Jordan offers more than invitations to invest—it offers carefully developed investment opportunities across a wide range of priority sectors, including renewable energy, mining, information technology, tourism, logistics, and infrastructure. These opportunities are supported by a modern and stable legislative framework, a highly qualified workforce, and a firm commitment to ensuring a diversified investment landscape. He added that Jordan's strategic location provides preferential access to global markets, positioning the Kingdom as a regional hub for re-export, storage, and logistics services.

He further stated that the conference, which brings together leading business executives, investors, and decision-makers, provides an effective national platform for strengthening connections between Jordanian expertise and capital abroad and the national economy. It also offers a valuable opportunity to explore the rapid developments taking place across various sectors in the Kingdom and to identify promising investment opportunities that support economic growth and contribute to building the Jordan of the future for generations to come.

Jordanian Businessmen Association President Ayman Al-Allawneh

For his part,President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association, Ayman Al-Allawneh, said that Jordanians abroad represent an invaluable national asset and a key partner in supporting Jordan's economic growth through their expertise, professional experience, and extensive international networks. He noted that they serve as an important bridge connecting Jordan with global markets and play a vital role in strengthening economic and investment partnerships between Jordan and the world.

Al-Allawneh added that the conference serves as a renewed platform for strengthening ties and expanding avenues of cooperation between Jordan and its citizens abroad, paving the way toward a more prosperous future while reinforcing their role as active partners in the Kingdom's economic development.

He said that, inspired by this vision, the theme of the Ninth Conference—"Investment Opportunities with a Global Vision"—reflects the Association's aspiration to establish new investment partnerships and harness the expertise and capabilities of Jordanians around the world in support of the national economy and its competitiveness.

He stressed that, over the past decades, Jordanians abroad have consistently demonstrated that they are genuine partners in Jordan's development journey and outstanding ambassadors for the Kingdom across diverse economic and investment sectors through the remarkable success stories they have achieved in regional and international markets.

Al-Allawneh added that the Association looks forward to a new phase focused on strengthening partnerships with Jordanians abroad by creating a more competitive and stable investment environment, further developing legislation and procedures, and establishing permanent institutional channels of communication. Such efforts, he said, will enable Jordanians abroad to transform their expertise and international networks into productive projects and high-value investments that contribute to economic growth, increase exports, create jobs, and promote technology and knowledge transfer.

He also pointed out that total remittances from Jordanian expatriate workers to the Kingdom increased by approximately13 percentduring the first four months of2026, reaching aroundUSD 1.6 billion. This, he said, reflects the strong bonds between Jordanians abroad and their homeland and underscores the importance of building on these ties to further enhance their role as active partners in investment and national development.
